Help & FAQ
When an item is out of stock and we don't have an exact ETA for the shipment, then the item goes on Backorder. Once the shipment is planned and it is assigned a date then the order goes from Backorder to Preorder. It allows you to order items in advance and get ahead in the queue, as most of the items such as Kayaks get sold out even before they arrive at the stores.
Kayaks go on the preorder for the upcoming shipments. Due to the high demand for our Kayaks, they are sold out even before the shipment arrives. So it is best to place an order sooner than later to lock in the color and price.
An item is assigned a backorder status when there is no exact shipment arrival date. Once we have a confirmed ETA, then the item goes from Backorder to Preorder. At each stage, as the shipment progresses you will be notified by email and SMS.
While our Kayak shipments usually arrive on the advertised date on rare occasions the shipments can be delayed due to factors out of our control. In these cases, we will update the ETA as soon as we can. Once the shipment arrives the Kayaks are unloaded and become available for pick up, we will notify you via email and SMS.
The Order/Invoice number can be found on the top right-hand side of the invoice. It will also be sent via email and SMS when the order is ready to be picked up.
Please have your order number ready when contacting us and when you are picking up your order.
The only warehouses that accepts payment at the time of pick up are Newcastle and Sydney . For other warehouses the payment needs to be made online or over the phone .
When ordered through the website it will take approximately ten minutes for the system to fully update and the kayak or accessories to become available for pick up.
We are able to hold your kayak for up to 10 business days after the notification that the order is ready to be picked up.
If you cannot pick up your order before this time please contact us via phone or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and request an extension.
If you do not pick up within the 10 business days and do not contact us about an extension there is a storage fee of $5 per week.
You are able to organise a friend or courier company to pick up on your behalf. Please contact us at email@example.com to organise a collection by a friend or company on your behalf.
The Friend/ Company will be required to provide the order number and some photo ID to collect the order on your behalf.

We recommend folding the back seats down and the front seat forward and measuring the distance.

You can turn the kayak upside down and tie it down with two straps on either side on top of normal roof racks.
We do have systems such as K-Rack and Rack & Roll, that can help with loading the kayak onto the roof.
The measurement on our website is without the seat installed.
Our kayaks are designed in Australia, manufactured in China however the plastic is imported from the UK.
Kayak hull thickness is 4-5mm for all Puffinn, Osprey, Nextgen 9 , Nextgen 10 and Eagle.
The rudder really does help, but its not essential .
The rudder comes assembled on the NextGen10 kayak, you can choose not to deploy it or not.
Our two versions of Soft roof racks do come with straps.
They can be found here:
Our Osprey or NextGen kayaks would suit best, we have plenty of customers that still use fishing kayaks for leisure .
The Tandem kayaks are able to be used with a single person and there are two options for this
1. You can place one of the seats in the centre of the kayak. For the Eagle and Merlin kayaks that is the soft seat. For the Triton, the aluminium framed seat will fit in the centre.
2. You can sit in the back seat of the kayak but you will need to counterbalance the front with something with some weight such as a full cooler box.
We recommend the Nextgen 1+1 as there is dedicated space for a child or dog.
They can be found here: https://www.kayaks2fish.com/nextgen-1-plus-1-kayak
We recommend the Merlin as the best all-rounder for lakes, rivers, bays and Esturays
Yes the Osprey and NextGen9 can stack, the Nextgen first then the Osprey ontop.
Kayaks in stock are ready for immediate pickup, you usually receive all pickup information the next busniess day morning.

To check if your Osprey Kayak is compatible with the Aluminium Vantage Seat look for the bungee strap located under the seat.
If this is pre-installed on your kayak it will fit.
Please note: The Aluminium Vantage Seat will block the centre hatch from being able to used during your trip.
We do sell the middle seat for our double kayaks.
For the Merlin and the Eagle the extra seat can be found here: https://www.kayaks2fish.com/luxury-kayak-seat-with-high-back-rest-kayak-seat
For the Triton, the extra seat can be found here: https://www.kayaks2fish.com/nextgen-aluminium-vantage-seat
We do not sell petrol motors.
The majority of our kayaks are made from HDPE with the exception of the PedalKing range which is made from LLDPE.
What do HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE stand for?
- Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is softer and more flexible than HDPE. It also has a lower melting point (115° C) and is more transparent. Compared to HDPE, it is more likely to crack under stress.
- Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) is a copolymer of ethylene and another longer olefin, which is incorporated to improve properties such as tensile strength or resistance to harsh environments.
- High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is rigid and durable and offers greater chemical resistance. Its higher melting point (135° C) allows it to withstand higher temperatures than LDPE. Its more crystalline structure also results in greater strength. It also has greater opacity which results in greater vibrancy and longer-lasting colour.
